Born in 1928 as Elias Otha Bates, but also known as Elias McDaniel, Bo Diddley was a bridge between blues and rock, especially with his unique chunka-chunka ‘Bo Diddley’ beat, influencing numerous future guitar players. Here he is performing two of his hits; first, in a tape from 1970, his signature tune, “Bo Diddley” and then, from 1957, his popular blues, “Before You Accuse Me”:
