Today’s Music: Willie Dixon, James Cotton, Deborah Harry

Blues legend Willie Dixon was born today in 1915 (d. 1992). Without composer/bassist/arranger/producer Dixon, there likely would have been no ‘Chicago Blues’ sound, no Muddy Waters, no Howlin’ Wolf, and certainly no Chess Records. Here’s a sampling of some of the hundreds of blues tunes he wrote:
